Andromeda Six Newsletter | May 2025
Hi everyone!
It's newsletter time again, and this time we're here with a release date...
Episode 9 will be released on 24th May 2025!! ๐๐
We'll let you know an exact time for the release closer to the date, and will continue sharing more sneak peeks and beta updates here on Patreon!
Also don't forget that the petition for our Lizzie Plushie is going live in one day!! We're trying to make all our Lizzie dreams come true, so if you'd like one of these limited edition plushies please sign up to the petition once it's live!!
We'll repost our previous F.A.Q below, with a couple of additional questions that players have been asking:
How much will Andromeda Six cost when Episode 9 is released?
A6 will be priced at $14.99 (USD) at the time of the Episode 9 release. This is an early access price, which means if you pay for the game while it's at this lower price, you will not have to pay again when we raise the price upon full release.
Why are you making A6 paid?
The scale of A6 has grown enormously since we first started, and it's no longer financially possible for us to continue working on the game with it remaining free to play.
Episode 10 and the following Epilogue will be the toughest for us to make, and we already have a list of additional features to add like multiple endings, illustrated end cards, and additional sprites/outfits, which we know will be a lot of work.
By putting a price on the game, it will help us to commission extra work and put everything we can into making Episode 10, and the following Epilogue, the best ending for the game that we've been envisioning, so that A6 can really go out with a bang.
Will A6 be available on Steam?
Episode 9 will be available to play on itch.io first, but we will make it available in early access on Steam as soon as we are able to (though it may take a couple of months). If you can't or don't want to purchase through itch, we will also have it available on our Patreon shop.
If I purchase A6 on itch.io will I get a Steam key?
No, if you'd like to play A6 on Steam you will need to purchase it separately.
If I already have A6 downloaded, will I need to download it again?
Yes, if you would like to play the new update with Episode 9 included, you will need to download A6 again, or update it through the itch app, and pay the new cost.
When will A6 be finished?
At this stage, we don't know, but we will continue to keep you up to date as work progresses, and we know that with some extra hands on board we'll be able to pick up the pace of development.
After the Ep 9 release, we'll start getting some feedback from players on whether you'd like to see Episode 10 and the Epilogue released at the same time, or if you'd prefer access to Episode 10 earlier, and the Epilogue a little after that.
Once all ten episodes + the Epilogue are released we'll be doing a revamp of the game, which means a new UI, character creator, new music, more art, more scenes, more choices, and once this final version of the game is released, we'll be raising the price to it's full-release pricing.
What's happening with the After Dark DLC?
After Dark has been (lovingly) pushed to the side while we focus on finishing the main game, and we will pick up production on it again as soon as Episode 10 and the Epilogue have been released.
Thank you everyone! If you have any further questions feel free to leave them in the comment section below, and we'll see you soon with more news! ๐

I can't wait til this comes to steam. Been watching for months maybe a year this game really interests me and can't wait for it to finally be on steam.
I really want to play eps 9 now but im gonna wait until everything comes out and then let the creators revamp it to its full price which probably wont be 15.00 anymore. i do think its a little weird for 1 eps to cost 15.00 since we already almost have the full game and we're just adding on to it but that could just be me since ive never bought anything game wise like this in my life (not complaining, just an very unexperienced buyer lol). Still, very excited and will be waiting for the full release!
I feel it's very generous that the developers have offered their product for free so far. It takes a ton of time and money to produce a game. So we're not paying for the final episodes, we're really paying for the entire game that they have been giving away for free until now. They gave us an 80% (or more) free demo, which is hella generous. We were able to get a very deep understanding of the product for free instead of buying a game without knowing if we'll like it. I know I'm posting a lot in this update comment section but I feel strongly that developers deserve to be paid for their labor and monetary investment into the product that we have come to love.
Yea, I totally agree with u! Its probably because im not used to most developers doing this exactly. Im used to them sending out a demo whether its long or short and then separately posting the full priced game. I don't know how to explain it better lol.
Your experience is totally valid. I feel I've seen other developers use a similar model where they develop the game for free, incorporating feedback as they go along, then offer the final product for sale. Or at the very least it doesn't seem odd to me
I am super excited for this!! And am more than happy to pay this game is amazing, thank you so much for your hardwork!
I'll be very happy to pay for this game! But I'm not clear on something, will the early access also be available on steam (separately from itch) or is it a itch-only option? I recently purchased a steam deck so I was looking forward to try it on steam.
super exciting stuff. get that bag yall!!
That's my birthday! :D Looking forward to it!
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but regarding having to redownload A6 to play with the new update, would I have to redownload it AND pay for the pricing, or just simply the redownloading? Again, sorry for needing the clarification ๐ญ
Yes, to play episode 9 you will have to pay the $14.99, which will support the development of the game, which has very generously been offered for free until now
Ah, alright thank you I understand it now. I'm not opposed to having to pay I adore this game and I think it's very worth the price, considering how much work, love, and effort the devs put into this. I was just looking for some clarification :)
Understandable. :) Apologies for going ham in the comments section. I got a little carried away. Looking forward to enjoying episode 9 with everyone!
Of course I totally understand you're good! I can't wait to play to episode 9 with everyone too. :)
Why isn't the Steam key included? I like keeping my games in my Steam library, but buying the same game twice... :(
If you buy a play station game and you want to then play it on your xbox, you'd have to buy a separate xbox copy. That's kind of how I think about it. You could wait for the steam release and only purchase one copy that way if you want
Right but those are two different consoles not connected to each other. Steam and itch are 2 different platforms that are both on PC. It's not the same.
Plus buying digital games on Xbox allows you to play them on PC at no extra cost anyway.
Fair enough. I figure if you want a steam copy, you buy it there, and if you want an itch copy, you get it there. If it's for the same PC operating system, I'm not sure why you would need 2 game keys for the same game.
From following other developers and hearing their experiences, my understanding is that it costs money to host your game on multiple platforms, and for steam specifically, giving away free copies can hurt the developer because steam doesn't count reviews from users with free copies towards the total reviews which hurts the game's visibility.
Understandable, I'm not one of those asking. I'd just thought I'd say it's not the same as your comparison, plus it's not uncommon to offer a Steam key on top of your itch purchase.
It also doesn't cost any money to host your game - itch is free to use and steam charges a $100 listing fee, which you do get back after $1,000 in sales.
Yeah, I was thinking that since many games here also offer Steam keys, I thought, why not? Anyway, I guess I'll just wait for the Steam release.
